CAN I BOOK ONLINE OR VIEW AVAILABILITY?

WHAT PAYMENT TYPES DO YOU ACCEPT?
You may pay for your studio time with Cash, Debit Card, or Major Credit Card!

CAN I GET CD's DUPLICATED AT MARKEE?
We can provide you up to 3 CDs at the end of your session or project. That said, for mass duplication we do recommend 3rd party providers that have proven and reputable history with us.

CAN I EAT, DRINK, OR SMOKE IN THE STUDIO?
You may eat and drink right outside the recording studio in the back lounge area, or in the break room, but we prefer not inside the recording studio. You may smoke outside where we have provided a smoking area in the back of the building!

CAN I BRING MY FRIENDS TO WATCH?
Yes, you can have guests at your sessions. However, we do ask that any guests observe proper studio etiquette. We also ask that any guests not impede or disrupt the recording process, and stay respectfully quiet during recording, as to not interfere with the quality of the product.

CAN I TAKE MY SESSION HOME?
Yes. But remember, thumb drive transfers are slow. If you do a 2-hour recording session, it could take 30 minutes or more to transfer your session. A USB hard drive will transfer much faster and is preferred. Time for the transfer of data should be reserved toward the end of the session and is done during the time you've booked. We can also email you the MP3, or share MP3 files with you via Dropbox or WeTransfer.

DO YOU CHARGE FOR STEMS?
You must book time with the studio for the export and collection of your instrument stems. Speak with your engineer to determine, based on the size of your project, how long this will likely take. For a single song, this may be done in 5-10 minutes at the end of your last session. If you're working on a large project this could take a couple of hours at least.

HOW MUCH DOES THE STUDIO COST?
The recording studio is booked by the hour with a 2 hour minimum. You can also take advantage of our bulk rate pricing. Prices are posted for on our website HERE.
We don’t allow outside contractors to use the studio without one of our engineers present.
For producers or engineers interested in renting the studio please give us a call to schedule an appointment.

WHAT TYPE OF RECORDINGS CAN I DO AT MARKEE?
Markee’s senior engineers are remarkably skilled and versatile. We specialize in tracking, mixing, editing, and mastering all styles of music. Whether your project is one song or 10, a solo artist or full band, or you want to bring in a project that needs some cleanup, we can take your project to the next level, that’s what we do.

IS MIXING INCLUDED?
Yes mixing is included in the hourly rate if there is time left at the end of the session after all recording has been completed. Please keep in mind that mixing can take a significant amount of time, depending on your project, so another mixing session may have to be scheduled.

HOW DO SESSION TIMES WORK?
Your session time starts at the time you've reserved and ends once the all equipment is packed down and you leave the facility. A proper and thoughtful setup is essential to a smooth session and takes time to complete. Please ensure you account for the time it takes for you and your band to
load in and set-up, backup/export session files, and pack down your equipment when planning your studio booking.

HOW DO I RESERVE A RECORDING SESSION?
All you have to do is give us a call to check for availability and give us a credit card to reserve the room. We do book up very quickly so try to book your session as soon as possible to ensure the availability of the time that you want for your session.

I'M A VOCALIST AND WANT TO RECORD OVER BACKING TRACKS, CAN I DO THIS AT MARKEE?
You absolutely can! Simply bring in your backing track or instrumental stems on a thumb drive
or USB hard drive and we’ll take it from there.

CAN YOU SUPPLY MUSICIANS IF I DON'T HAVE A BAND?
Yes, we can! Markee has a team of top-notch session musicians that can play any style of music. You will be charged for each musician either by the song or by the hour depending on the session player's requirements. This is also subject to availability at the time of reservation.

IS THERE GEAR TO USE IN THE STUDIO?
Yes, we provide guitar amps, a keyboard amp, a bass amp, and a 5 piece drum kit complete with cymbals and hardware to use during your sessions. Not to mention our stellar collection of outboard gear in the control room and ISO booths to create a world-class recording.

CAN I BRING MY OWN GEAR?
Absolutely! If you’re more comfortable with your own gear, no problem. However, if you think your gear may not be suitable for recording, we will have gear for you to use!

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Markee requires at least 24 hours notice for all cancellations. Less than 24 hours notice to the time you have booked will result in a minimum of 50% cancellation fee and subject to a 100% cancellation fee if you cancel the day of the scheduled recording.
